The Dickens Festival/Christmas Crafts

Jake and I went to the Dickens Festival today with my Brother Cade, his Fiance Emalee, and her little brother. We had all been to the Santa's Workshop the weekend before at the Dixie Center, and Emalee and I saw these head bands that we both wanted, but didn't get, so we decided if we saw them this time we would get them! They are kinda like a beanie, but not in full, I think they are crocheted, they have a little flower on them and they button in the back, they are super cute! So then we get walking and Jake spots this little booth that is handmade wooden toys well they had a Track hoe, Backhoe, and a Road Grader(I think that's what it is) and I do have to admit, we were all impressed! There was no plastic, no metal involved just all wood, and the detail that these had, they maneuvered so smooth! Truly art, this guy is amazing at what he does! Well I thought for sure we would be leaving with at least one of them but when we asked the price of the Trackhoe....$225.00 :O maybe one day....but probably not anytime soon! So besides the Dickens Festival I have been busy being very crafty at home! I made some Christmas stockings for Jake, Addison and I- by the time I got done cutting out the pattern for the first one, I was ready to be done! But I stuck in there and finished all three, I don't know how Amanda did 12 for her family! Amanda and I also made some Christmas Countdown Blocks, I had found a tutorial online, but if you would like to make them, her link is on my blog, and then from there she has a link to her craft blog. It was really easy!

Rice Crispy Treats

On Saturday we went out to eat with the Campbell's and after they came over to our house. We decided to let the kids make some rice crispy treats and they were ecstatic about it! Addi and Hunter decorated their treats with sprinkles and afterwards settled down enough to watch a movie. It was a pretty fun night!

Jake's Bowling Competition

Jake was in a bowling competition on 11.21.09, he competed in teams, doubles, and singles. Jake's team took 1st place, and he took 1st place in scratch all events. Jake's best series of the night was a 794 with a 279, 289, and 226...that's 6 pins away from a 800 series, which would have been his second this year! Jake threw 17 straight strikes, but unfortunately it was between two games so he didn't bowl a 300. He had fun and not to mention won a little bit of money which he used to buy me a christmas tree and some decorations since we didn't have any :)

Thanksgiving

We spent Thanksgiving over at my parents house this year. Jakes mom and brother came down Thanksgiving day and spent a few hours with us also. Cade and Emalee came over and brought Rock Band, so between that, the Foosball table, and the ping pong table we all had a pretty good time! Not to mention delicious food! I didn't take many pictures cause I was so busy, but here is some of what I did get.

Jake and Lynn playing ping pong

Cade and Emalee(we all knew that Cade was planning on proposing the next day so it was so hard not to say anything, we were all so excited!! and if your wondering, she did say yes!)

Jake and I( i don't' know why we always take the pictures ourselves when we could easily ask someone)

We said "Thanks!"

I got this in an e-mail today- XEROX company is doing something really cool. If you go to this web site, www.LetsSayThanks.com, you can pick out a thank you card and Xerox will print it and it will be sent to a soldier that is currently serving in Iraq. Jake and I picked out a card, you can enter who it is from, we put from: "Jake, Keeley and Addison Mitchell" and then you can either pick out a greeting, or type in your own. It only takes a few seconds so HURRY and go send yours. :)

Bowling

On Saturday we decided to go bowling. Jake's mom and brother were here and then we also invited Amanda, Eric, and Hunter along with us because Hunter and Addi had been asking about each other and missed each other so much. Shortly after we got started they turned off the lights and turned on the blacklights, which Addi and Hunter loved. Every time Addi and Hunter got up to bowl, Hunter would hurry and throw his and then run over to Addi's lane and they would lay on the floor and watch her ball, haha it was so funny! It was a great time for all of us!
